The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon S3

Season three tracks Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) as they continue their journey towards home and the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse

For this open-sea sequence in season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, and Stephen Merchant really were out on the water during filming — surrounded by blue screens.

Our teams crafted over 60 VFX shots, including water and wave simulations in Houdini, as well as digitally creating skies, clouds, and storms. The work was led by Mathieu Legros (MPC VFX Supervisor) and Yann Nivet (MPC VFX Producer), with the collaboration of Jao M’Changama (Overall VFX Supervisor), Justine Paynat-Sautivet (Senior VFX Producer), and Sébastien Voisin (VFX Producer).
